Prices of non-grain oriented electrical steel in major markets of China kept the upward trend during this month mainly supported by the high purchase cost and the price increase of steel products like CRC, while those of grain oriented electrical steel went down further on weak demand. Mainstream steel mills such as Baosteel, WISCO and Ansteel all announced to raise their list prices of NGO electrical steel produced in July. As customers were mostly purchasing materials for urgent need, the market sales performance did not become better. Because of the high purchase cost and weak demand, traders refused to build large stockpiles.
