Considering the weak demand from downstream clients, the brown fused alumina market remained dim in May. However, some suppliers held the prices firm because of the stable production cost. Therefore, the prices of Chinese brown fused alumina moved down slightly in May.
In the first week of May, the prices of Chinese white fused alumina go up due to the rebounded price of raw material alumina powder. In the following three weeks of this month, the prices of Chinese white fused alumina kept steady as the prices of raw material alumina powder stayed firm.
Given the price decline of brown fused alumina and white fused alumina in China, the export prices of brown fused alumina and white fused alumina decreased accordingly this month. However, the export market saw slow buying activities due to the weak demand.
Considering the national lockdown in India, the prices of brown fused alumina and white fused alumina in India remained unchanged this month due to scarce deals. In Europe, the prices of brown fused alumina and white fused alumina went soft in May due to the slow market dragged by the weak demand.
