Saudi to impose WTO-allowable maximum tariffs on imported iron and steel

Saudi Arabia plans to raise tariffs on imported steel products to the maximum bound tariff rates allowed by WTO. From 10 June on, the country will increase the imported tariff for square billets from 5% to 10%, that for hot-rolled products from 5% to 5-10% based on types, that for coating steel products from 5% to 12-15%, that for wire from 10% to 20% and that for rebar from 10% to 15%.
