On the afternoon of 1 June, Wang Yingsheng, Deputy Secretary General of China Iron & Steel Association had a conference call with Vale's Sales Director Mariz and other officials, exchanging ideas about current production and operation of Vale, Vale's measures amid the pandemic and other topics.

According to Vale, it sees normal production and operation by taking safeguard measures and isn't affected by COVID-19, so it will keep the production guidance for 2020 unchanged. Besides, as demand outside China decreases for the pandemic, it expects an increase in iron ore export volume to China in 2020 compared to 2019.
