MMC Baosteel to deliver slag pot carriers to LCS Copper Smelter in DRC

MCC Baosteel Technology Services Co., Ltd. announced that the road test began on May 20 for MCC Heavy Machinery BGC-75U slag pot carriers which will be sent to LCS Copper Smelter in DRC.
LCS Copper Smelter is the first modern pyrometallurgical copper smelting project in DRC, with total investment of USD470 million. The phase I project has annual production capacity of 120,000t of blister copper, 240,000t of sulfuric acid, 30,000t of liquid sulfur dioxide, and 11,000t of copper-cobalt alloy. The project is also the largest overseas single-site Cu-Co resource development project invested by China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co., Ltd.
