In view of the low operating rate of downstream clients, the brown fused alumina saw slow buying activities in April. In order to compete for more orders, Chinese brown fused alumina suppliers lowered the prices. However, the market remained slow in spite of price decline. Therefore, the prices of Chinese brown fused alumina moved down in April.
In the first three weeks of April, the prices of Chinese white fused alumina moved down due to the price decline of raw material alumina powder. In the last week of this month, the prices of Chinese white fused alumina ceased slipping and kept firm as the prices of raw material alumina powder stopped moving down.
With the price decline of brown fused alumina and white fused alumina in China, the export prices of brown fused alumina and white fused alumina decreased accordingly this month. However, the export market saw slow buying activities due to the weak demand with outbreak of COVID-19 in overseas.
On account of national lockdown in India, the prices of brown fused alumina and white fused alumina in India remained unchanged this month due to scarce deals. The prices of brown fused alumina and white fused alumina went soft in April due to the slow market dragged by the weak demand.
