Prices of both non-grain oriented electrical steel and grain oriented electrical steel in major markets of China witnessed a downward trend during this month due to the high inventory and weak demand caused by the coronavirus outbreak. Mainstream steel mills such as Baosteel and WISCO announced to keep their list prices of NGO electrical steel with middle and low grades produced in April stable. Downstream customers could not keep the regular production and their demand for electrical steel was unsatisfying. With new materials arriving in succession, traders had to reduce their prices to promote sales.
