    1. Market Highlights

Prices for cobalt concentrate and intermediates increased as cobalt offers on MB (Metal Bulletin) rose slowly and raw material suppliers raised discount coefficient of raw materials.

Alloy and magnet producers ran at low operating rate, so the cobalt metal and cobalt powder markets were sluggish and transactions of the two materials were limited. Cobalt powder prices rose supported by those for cobalt carbonate.

Despite weak demand for cobalt sulfate, mainstream producers strongly raised offers inspired by higher raw material prices, so cobalt sulfate offers soared.

Despite the weak demand in 3C market due to the off season, prices for cobalt chloride and cobalt tetroxide increased supported by higher cobalt raw material prices.

Ceramic plants ran at low operating rate, so the demand for cobalt oxide was weak. But cobalt oxide prices increased driven by higher cobalt tetroxide prices.
