    The project, which shut down in Dec. 2015 due to unfavorable market conditions, will include modernization of the existing rounds caster.

    The furnace will have an annual capacity of 1.6 million tons, the company said.Asian Metal Copyright The project, which shut down in Dec.Asian Metal Copyright Construction is expected to begin immediately and the furnace is projected to begin producing steel rounds in the second half of next year.

    Currently, the Fairfield operation has an annual capacity of approximately 720,000 tons of seamless tubular products, made mainly for the energy industry.
