Customs Tariff Commission: To halve additional tariffs on U.S. goods worth USD75 billion

On 6 February, Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council announced that it will adjust additional tariffs on some U.S. goods. In order to promote healthy and stable development of China-U.S. trade relationship, Customs Tariff Commission decided in accordance with relevant laws and regulations as well as basic principles of International Law to adjust additional tariffs on U.S. goods worth approximately USD75 billion. The additional tariffs of 10% and 5% that took effect on 1 September, 2019 will be adjusted to 5% and 2.5% respectively, effective from 13:01 of 14 February, 2020.
In addition to the abovementioned measures, other additional tariffs on U.S. goods will continue to be implemented as stipulated and the additional tariff exclusion process is still underway.
