CISA: To promote differentiated environmental protection production restriction in 2020

On 11 January, Gao Xiangming, Chairman of China Iron & Steel Association (CISA) noted that CISA will focus on supply side structural reform and promote differentiated environmental protection production restriction and staggering peak production in 2020 to accelerate extra-low emission transformation and avoid "one size fits all" practice for production cut and suspension.
According to Gao Xiangming, iron and steel industry must give up the old way of scale-based expansion and low-price competition and enterprises must have a good control over production reasonably to maintain market stability together. CISA will completely eradicate illegal newly-built production capacity and promote differentiated environmental protection production restriction and staggering peak production to accelerate extra-low emission transformation.
