1. Market Highlights
Prices for section steel and steel pipe failed to continue the upward trend during the month, dragged by the sharp price falling back of steel billet. Besides, the downstream demand in North China shrank day by day because of the cold weather, leading to a slow market. Not being confident of the market prospect, traders were cautious about supplementing inventories, and end users were inactive in placing large orders. Reporting reduced orders, steel mills were in low production capacities.
