Liaocheng launches level-two emergency response for heavy air pollution

The Emergency Command Office of Liaocheng announced on January 1 that the city would experience moderate to severe air pollution from 2 to 5 January 2020, according to the forecast by air quality experts. Under the guidance of the Office for Environmental Pollution Prevention and Control, the city government decided to issue an orange alert for heavy air pollution on 1 January 2020 at 12:00 a.m. and launch the level-two emergency response on January 2 at 0:00 a.m.
Industries that are required to take different compulsory measures to reduce emission include iron and steel, ferroalloy, coking, alumina, primary aluminum, carbon, copper smelting, zinc and lead smelting, secondary copper, aluminum, lead and zinc alloys, ceramics, refractory, casting etc. Most of the related companies are required to restrict production to varying degrees, and China Ⅳ-compliant heavy truck and the lower-standard (including gas vehicles) are generally not allowed for transporting materials.
