Handan issues air pollution control plan for 2020

Handan air pollution prevention working group stated that in the first quarter of 2020, the air quality in Handan is still grim affected by the industrial structure and large emission from key industries. In order to effectively improve the air quality in the city in 2020, key industries should control production according to the following provisions:
I. Steel industry: Blast furnaces and sintering machines which were ordered to shut down before January 26, 2020 for urgent emission reduction under poor air condition shall not be restarted until February 29, 2020. Heat-supply collaborative enterprises should produce based on heat supply.
II. Coking industry: Coking companies shall implement the production load till February 29, 2020 according to the Production Control for Key Industries from September to December 2019 and take emergency response during corresponding period. Enterprises that guarantee people's livelihood shall continue to comply with emergency management and control requirements.
III. Brick, lime, casting and other key industries: Companies in these industries shall implement the production load till February 29, 2020 according to the Production Control for Key Industries from September to December 2019. Enterprises which are under governments' supervision could formulate specific production plans and put off the production load during January and February to March.
