Ministry of Commerce: China, U.S. maintain close communication in agreement signing

On 19 December, Gao Feng, spokesman of the Ministry of Commerce, stated at the press conference that China and the United States reached consensus on content of the first-stage trade agreement on the basis of equality and mutual respect. The U.S. will fulfill its commitment and cancel additional tariffs to take effect or being in force on some Chinese goods. The two sides maintain close communication in agreement signing and other follow-ups. No more details about the first-stage agreement can be released at the moment and the content will be publicized after the agreement is formally inked.
