Global stainless steel crude steel output up by nearly 3.4% YOY in Q1-Q3 2019

According to statistics released by ISSF on December 12, in the first three quarters (Q1-Q3) of 2019, the total output of global stainless steel crude steel reached 39.809 million tons, up by 3.4% compared with 38.486 million tons in the corresponding period of last year. In terms of regions, except for mainland China, which grew by about 11.7% YOY to 22.49 million tons, output in other major regions experienced different degrees of decline YOY. Stainless steel crude steel output in Europe fell by about 7.2% YOY to 5.234 million tons; that in the United States fell by about 7.5% YOY to 2.019 million tons; that in Asia (excluding mainland China, South Korea, and Indonesia) which mainly include Japan, India, and Taiwan China fell by about 5.4% YOY to 5.879 million tons; that in other regions (Brazil, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, and Indonesia) fell by about 3.1% YOY to 4.188 million tons.
In the third quarter of 2019, the output of global stainless steel crude steel was 13.693 million tons, up by nearly 2.2% MOM. Among all the regions, the output in Europe continuously dropped by about 19% MOM to 1.491 million tons but the other regions saw MOM increases. The output of global stainless steel crude steel in the United States increased by about 3.4% MOM to 669,000t; that in mainland China further increased by nearly 6.1% MOM to 8.135 million tons; that in Asia (excluding mainland China, South Korea, and Indonesia) increased by nearly 2.2% MOM to 1.98 million tons; and that in other regions increased by nearly 8.5% MOM to 1.417 million tons.
