    1 Market Highlights

Cobalt offers on MB (Metal Bulletin) continued to drop this month, and Chinese cobalt market was sluggish. Smelters continued to force down raw materials prices, leading to lower cobalt raw material discount coefficient.

With scarce transactions in alloy and magnet industries, consumers purchased raw material cobalt metal with caution, so cobalt metal and cobalt powder prices dropped.

With LNCMO battery plants running at low operating rate, LNCMO market saw limited transactions and precursor plants only purchased raw material cobalt sulfate in small volumes, so cobalt sulfate prices were hard to keep stable.

With 3C market in the low season, transactions of LCO were limited, leading to less demand for raw materials cobalt chloride and cobalt tetroxide, so prices for the two materials fell under pressure.

With limited transactions in ceramic industry, producers showed little interest in purchases of raw material cobalt oxide, resulting in scarce transactions and lower prices for cobalt oxide.
