Prices of both Chinese origin and imported iron ore in most regions kept the downward trend during the month on weak demand from steel mills and the increased supply. Because of the strict environmental protection inspection during the winter heating season, steel mills in North China had to reduce the production from time to time and the demand for iron ore decreased accordingly. However, prices of finished steel products like rebar went up obviously this week, which supported iron ore market to some extent.
