Jinan to create green high-quality steel industry cluster

Recently, People's Government of Jinan issued Measures to Support the Development of Laiwu District and Gangcheng District and strives to promote green and healthy development of local steel industry and relevant industries.

The document put forward to create a green high-quality steel industry cluster. The major measures include:

Support the transformation and upgrading of iron and steel industry in Laiwu District and Gangcheng District, build 100 billion level of high-quality steel industry cluster that can complement advantages with coastal iron and steel cluster and develop together with differences, extend iron and steel industry chains, enhance the production of 400 series hot-rolled and cold-rolled stainless steel to serve downstream manufacturing industry and boost the development of automobile parts, bearings, grinding tools and forging industries.

Actively promote green assembling steel structure construction, subsidize the key construction projects that use green steel structure parts and propel the annual steel structure processing capacity to break 2 million tons in five years.

Support the construction and development of High-quality Steel Industry and Technology Research Institute.

Plan and build Shandong Iron and Steel Exchange Center based on Laiwu Iron and Steel Luzhong Logistics Park.
