A continued deterioration in market conditions, depressed prices and higher electricity tariffs has prompted Samancor Chrome to reduce its chrome ore and ferrochrome production levels for 2020.
It has not yet announced the extent of the planned production cuts.
Samancor Chrome owns and operates mines on the eastern and western limbs of the Bushveld Igneous Complex, as well as five smelting operations.
