Anhui government announces 2019 tungsten mining quota

On December 3, Department of Natural Resources of Anhui Province announced that, in order to protect and mine high-quality mineral resources at a reasonable level, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Ministry of Natural Resources will continue to implement quota policies on tungsten and rare earth mining; and the two ministries recently announced an overall 900t tungsten concentrate (tungsten trioxide 65%) mining quota for Anhui province in 2019 (including the 450t quota previously announced for Anhui province in 2019).
According to the announcement, Anhui Jixi Tungsten Co. Ltd. is allocated with a 300t tungsten concentrate mining quota and Qingyang Dingsheng Mining Co., Ltd. with a 600t quota. The Department required that county-level natural resources authorities should strengthen monitoring on the companies' implementation of tungsten concentrate quotas; and if there are companies found to mine beyond their quotas, the extra part will be deducted from their quotas this year or next year and the companies will take the blame for their uncomplying actions.
