MIIT: Industrial policies conducive to large-scale and high-value utilization of steel scrap to be studied

On November 28, 2019, the 2019 national waste steel conference was held in Fuzhou, Fujian Province. Li Li, a first-class inspector of the Department of Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), stressed at the meeting that steel scrap is an important renewable resource, and strengthening the comprehensive utilization of steel scrap is an effective way to promote the transformation, upgrading and green development of the steel industry. Related governments should attach great importance to the comprehensive utilization of scrap steel resources, accelerate the optimization of the layout of scrap iron and steel processing industry, further improve the industrial concentration, focus on cultivating industry backbone enterprises, vigorously improve the level of industrial technological equipment, study industrial policies conducive to the large-scale and high-value utilization of steel scrap, and accelerate the high-quality development of steel scrap industry.
