Xichang Steel Vanadium hits record high in pig iron and steel scrap purchasing volume

Xichang Steel Vanadium took measures such as increasing types, stabilizing prices and improving energy consumption to enlarge the purchasing volume of pig iron and steel scrap. Purchasing volume of pig iron and steel scrap reached 116,000t from January to October, up by 106% YOY, which provides powerful support to improve iron and steel capacity and economies of scale for company.
In order to improve the purchasing volume of pig iron and steel scrap, Xichang Steel Vanadium added six new types including pressed steel scrap, rebar scrap. By the end of October, the purchasing volume of newly-added types reached 15,000t, accounting for 13%. At present, the company purchases 13 types of pig iron and steel scrap, generally covering steel scrap market resources in western Panzhihua and reducing the outflow of high-quality resources in surrounding areas.
