Standardized collection rate of waste lead battery to reach above 40% in Sichuan by late 2020

On the morning of November 20, a briefing of Sichuan waste battery pollution prevention work was held at the ecological environment department.
According to the briefing, up to now, 35 pilot sites for issuing hazardous waste collection and operation licenses have been reported in 20 cities (prefectures) in Sichuan, including 8 pilot sites for lead-acid battery production enterprises and 27 professional recycling companies entrusted by production enterprises. At present, the Department of Ecological Environment has organized and completed the expert review of 10 centralized transfer stations in Chengdu, Zigong, Luzhou, Deyang, Mianyang, etc.
Sichuan provincial party committee and Sichuan provincial government attach great importance to the work of ecological environment protection, and make a strategic plan to comprehensively fight against pollution. It is clear that by the end of 2020, the standardized collection rate of waste lead batteries will reach more than 40%. By 2025, the standardized collection rate will be over 70%.
According to the national deployment and the provincial arrangement for pollution prevention and control of waste lead batteries, Sichuan will focus on five aspects: promoting the implementation of the action plan for pollution prevention and control of waste lead batteries, accelerating the examination and approval of waste lead battery collection and operation license, promoting the construction of waste lead battery comprehensive utilization project, establishing and improving the long-term mechanism of environmental supervision, and increasing the transparency of information disclosure.
