CATL secures BMW Li-battery purchase order

This Thursday, BMW announced that it has signed a power battery purchase contract respectively with the Chinese battery producer CATL and South Korean battery producer Samsung SDI, with the total contract value over EUR10 billion.
In the newly signed purchase contract with CATL, BMW raised its purchase value from EUR4 billion of the 2018 contract to EUR7.3 billion, and the supply time will last from 2020 to 2031; of the total contract value, EUR4.5 billion will come from BMW Group and EUR2.8 billion from BMW China.
Besides, BMW signed a purchase contract with Samsung SDI worth EUR2.9 billion, and the supply time will last from 2021 to 2031.
