Ministry of Commerce: China, U.S. trade teams to keep close communication

On 21 November, Gao Feng, spokesman of the Ministry of Commerce, stated that Liu He, member of CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, Vice Premier and chief representative of Sino-U.S. comprehensive economic dialogue, talked with U.S. trade representative Robert Lighthizer and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin over phone on the morning of 16 November. The two sides had a constructive discussion on respective core concerns about the first-stage agreement and agreed to keep close communication.
At the routine press conference on the same day, Gao Feng didn't disclose more details about the agreement negotiation but denied rumors. According to him, China is willing to work together with the United States to properly solve respective core concerns and reach the first-stage agreement on the basis of equality and mutual respect.
