Tiekeng Mining resumes iron concentrate production

On November 1, Jiangxi Xinyu Tiekeng Mining Co., Ltd. renewed two safety production licenses for Guishan tailings reservoirs and open-pit mining and got the approval from the Ministry of Emergency Management of Jiangxi. The company has produced 91,200 tons of qualified iron concentrate with a grade of 52.26% and a recovery rate of 58.11% since trial production; its sales volume of iron concentrate has reached 90,000 tons.
On January 4, 2018, a tailings leakage occurred at No. 1 drainage well of Guishan tailings reservoirs, which caused damage to the flood drainage tunnel and production halt of iron concentrate. Tiekeng Mining carried out emergency management and then took hidden dangers treatment for tailings reservoirs for more than a year.
During the treatment, the company completed the construction of new No. 1 drainage well and the reconstruction of main tunnel on time, and passed the on-site acceptance of external experts on July 30. On August 19, Ministry of Emergency Management of Jiangxi approved the trial operation of Tiekeng Mining.
