MEE issues 2019-2020 autumn/winter comprehensive air pollution control action plan for Yangtze River Delta Region

The Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) of China recently issued the 2019-2020 autumn/winter comprehensive air pollution control action plan targeting Yangtze River Delta Region.
Highlights of the plan include the structure adjustment in heavy-pollution industry based on a detailed schedule, the ultra-low emission transformation through adherence to high standards in iron and steel industry, a comprehensive control on air pollution from industrial furnaces and kilns, a faster restructuring of energy industry that calls for strict control on coal consumption, as well as the faster construction of port-wharf-railway multimodal transport system.
