With European cobalt metal price falling this month, market insiders were bearish about the market outlook although mainstream cobalt metal producers firmed their offers in China, and traders took the lead to reduce cobalt metal prices.
Due to closing limited orders, alloy and magnet producers faced capital difficulties and only purchased cobalt metal and cobalt powder, so prices for cobalt metal and cobalt powder fell.
Precursor battery plants ran at low operating and LNCMO market saw scarce transactions. Besides, consumers held a pessimistic attitude towards cobalt sulfate market outlook and only purchased the material based on orders, so cobalt sulfate prices slumped.
With the peak season of 3C market coming to an end, LCO producers decreased purchases of cobalt tetroxide, so prices for cobalt tetroxide and cobalt chloride softened.
