Shandong government to accelerate adjustment of iron and steel, local smelting and primary aluminum industries

Shandong Province recently issued the "guideline on advancing environment protection and economic development" and would optimize of industry, energy, transportation and urban space layout.
According to the guideline, outdated projects, capacities and equipments shall be replaced or closed; overcapacities are encouraged to be transferred. The adjustment for iron and steel, local smelting, primary aluminum, coking, tire, fertilizer, chlor-alkali industries shall be quickened and the capacity scale of alumina, captive power plant, thermal power projects shall be adjusted to a reasonable range. By the end of October 2020, the transformation of ultra-low emission in the iron and steel industry shall be completed.
