Australian-based South32 released its production results for the first quarter of the 2020 financial year (Q1 FY2020).
In the quarter, manganese ore production was up by 10% on the previous quarter to 1.4 million tonnes, with manganese ore production from the Australian operation increasing by 21% QoQ as weather conditions in the region improved.
Manganese alloy production was down by 29% over the previous quarter to 44,000 t in the same period.
