Chinese investors to build another comprehensive steel plant in Malaysia

China Metallurgical Group Corporation, CCCC Industrial Investment Company and Wen'an Iron and Steel Company announced recently that they plan to build a comprehensive steel plant in Samalaju industry area, Bintulu of Malaysia. The annual designed capacity has risen to 10 million tons from the initial 3.5 million tons, and it will become the largest steel producer in Southeast Asia after the construction is completed. The construction will begin in the middle of 2020.
In July this year, Hebei Xinwu'an Iron and Steel Group Company and China Metallurgical Group Corporation jointly announced to launch a comprehensive steel project of 500,000tpy in Samalaju industry area, Bintulu of Malaysia.
