  • Shandong insists on transition for energy-intensive industries

    Shandong sees an urgent need to speed up the adjustment of its economic layout, further cut backward and excessive production capacity and promote energy conservation as the province's seven energy-intensive industries, including iron and steel, local refining, primary aluminum and coking, take up nearly half of the total energy consumption but the interests and taxes they pay only account for 12%, said Wang Xiao, Deputy Director of Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong, at a press conference on September 27.

    According to him, Shandong will make big adjustments to its seven energy-intensive industries in the next ten years.
