Handan issues heavy pollution weather orange alert

It is said that Handan has issued orange alert for heavy pollution weather since 24:00 of September 23 and launched grade-two enhancement measures. According to Handan Heavy Pollution Weather Emergency Emission Reduction List 2019 and Production Adjustment and Control Scheme for Key Industries from September to December 2019 in Handan, Handan asked enterprises to implement emergency emission reduction.
1. All sintering machine and pellet should be suspended production and all blast furnaces should be damped down in iron industry.
2. All coking and chemical enterprises should prolong the coking time for 4.3m coking ovens by 72 hours and prolong the coking time for other coking ovens to 36 hours.
3. All construction sites should suspend outdoor construction operation and concreting operation after finishing the current continuous concreting operation.
4. The roasting process of carbon producers should undergo production adjustment and control in advance and feeding for 50% of roasting process should be ceased.
5. All open-pit mining and mine restoration should be suspended.
6. Except urban operation support vehicles and special vehicles for missions, heavy-duty trucks (including gas) of the National Fourth and below are prohibited from driving on the city's main urban counties (cities, districts) built-up areas and other key enterprises involved in the transportation of bulk raw materials and products. Heavy-duty and medium-sized trucks, three-wheeled vehicles, low-speed trucks and tractors are prohibited in the built-up areas of the city's main urban areas and counties (cities, districts).
