1. Market Highlights
Prices of CRC and HGI coil in Chinese leading markets declined a little bit in August, discouraged by the weak demand from downstream industries. However, the price decrease was smaller than that of HRC on relatively reduced supply in July and August. With the price gap between CRC and HRC enlarging, most steel mills became more active in producing CRC and HGI coil. However, the demand from downstream industries showed no obvious signal of growing by the end of August. In the international market, China's export prices for CRC and HGI coil came down due to the depreciation of RMB and those in other Asian countries like Malaysia followed the downward trend. Taking all factors into consideration, it is predicted that prices of CRC and HGI coil would record a slight decline in September.
