In order to reverse the disadvantageous situation of the aggravation of ozone pollution, Jiangsu's districts and municipalities have launched a three-month special action on ozone pollution prevention and control. For the iron and steel industry, Jiangsu stipulates that the transformation of the whole process ultra-low emission of iron and steel enterprises should be completed by the end of October in all regions. If the renovation is not completed within the time limit, production shall be stopped and rectification shall be carried out. At the same time, all coal-fired boilers with 35 steam tons per hour or less are "cleared" during the year; all coal-fired boilers with 65 steam tons per hour or more shall completed energy saving and ultra-low emission renovation, and other coal-fired boilers shall implement special emission limits.
