China enacts first resources tax law

On 26 August, the 12th session of the 13th National People's Congress Standing Committee voted through the first resources tax law of China, showing a significant signal that China speeds up the legal process of tax. The law will come into force on 1 September, 2020.
On 23 December, 2018, the draft of resources tax law was submitted to the National People's Congress Standing Committee for review for the first time, starting the upgrading procedure from tax temporary rules to law.
