Eight central ecological environment protection inspection teams finish inspections

On 22 August, Ministry of Ecology and Environment announced that eight central ecological environment protection inspection teams of the second round of inspections have finished inspections in six provinces (cities) and two central enterprises by 15 August.
Eight central ecological environment protection inspection teams of the second round of inspections began to conduct inspections in Shanghai, Fujian, Hainan, Chongqing, Gansu and Qinghai as well as China Minerals Corporation and ChemChina successively on 10-15 July.
By 15 August, these inspection teams accepted and transferred 18,732 cases reported by the public (excluding repeated cases), among which 6,761 cases have been solved and 4,119 cases have been solved on a staged basis by inspected provinces (cities) and central enterprises; imposed a fine of RMB11,308.7 (USD1,595) on 1,901 companies; investigated 60 cases and detained 56 persons; had interviews with 1,365 party and government leaders and investigated 234.
