Rare Earth Catalyst Research Institute established in Dongying

On the morning of 9 August, the signing and foundation ceremony for Rare Earth Catalyst Research Institute was held in Dongying Economic and Technologial Development Zone.

Rare Earth Catalyst Research Institute is a national research body established by Tianjin University and major industry leaders under the direction of National Advisory Committee on New Materials Industry Development Strategy, aiming to focus on national strategic demand, link significant projects of national key new materials research and application, build a new research and innovation system integrating academic chain, innovation chain and industry chain, solve fatal problems of rare earth catalyst material technology in industry application, break the patent monopoly and technology blockade of foreign nations and occupy the commanding height to provide support for the strategy of building a world power of science and technology. The research institute will put emphasis on moving source tail gas clean-up, stationary source waste gas pollution control and treatment and new energy catalyst and runs with the operation mode of nation-industry-enterprise.
