Fujian announces implementation plan for ultra-low emission transformation of steel industry

Fujian recently issued the Implementation Plan for Ultra-low Emission Transformation of the Iron and Steel Industry in Fujian (hereinafter referred to as the Plan). According to the Plan, the existing steel enterprises promote the ultra-low emission transformation step by step, as follows:
1. Before the end of August 2019, the steel enterprises and the key annual transformation projects listed explicitly in the transformation by cities and the enterprises or facilities that are outdated according to the law and that do not meet the relevant mandatory standards should be eliminated according to the law. And these enterprises or facilities are no longer required ultra-low emission conversion. Before the end of 2019, all steel enterprises formulated a comprehensive ultra-low transformation plan according to the transformation objectives and requirements, and clarified the list of key annual transformation projects and started implementation.
2. Before the end of 2021, Fujian's iron and steel enterprises' sintering and pelletizing processes should have basically been completed ultra-low emission transformation. Among them, Fuzhou, Sanming and Zhangzhou should strive to complete by the end of 2020.
3. Before the end of 2023, Fujian's iron and steel enterprises in the coking, iron making, steelmaking process organized emissions sources, material storage have basically been completed ultra-low transformation. Among them, Fuzhou, Sanming and Zhangzhou should complete before the end of 2022.
4. Before the end of 2025, Fujian's iron and steel enterprises in other processes organized emission sources, material transport and production processes unorganized emissions, bulk material product transportation have basically been completed ultra-low emission transformation, and the pollution discharge monitoring and control system has been basically completed. Among them, Fuzhou, Sanming and Zhangzhou should complete before the end of 2024.
