GAC holds forum on tax administration of steel and aluminum industries in Zouping

On July 30, General Administration of Customs (GAC) held a forum on tax administration of steel and aluminum industries in Zouping. GAC Tariff Collection Department, 14 customs offices directly under GAC, Shandong Aluminum Association, and enterprise representatives from Jinan, Zibo and other places participated in the forum, focusing on the high-quality development of steel and aluminum industries, and conducting a discussion and research around tariff research and adjustment, to lay a foundation for the final adjustment of tariff policy on aluminum by Tax Commission of the State Council.
The export of aluminum products of the hundred-billion-yuan industry in Binzhou ushered in a hot international market. In the first half of 2019, the export of aluminum products reached 1.49 billion yuan (about 217 million US dollars), up by 31.7% YOY and ranking third in Binzhou's export products. In March this year, Jinan Customs held its first special tax administration in Binzhou Aluminum Valley to support the high-quality development of the aluminum industry in Shandong. 14 tax adjustment proposals were paid attention to, 10 tax administration reports were submitted to the Tax Commission, covering 16 specific commodities.
