Steel capacity to be emptied in Langfang in 2019

According to news at a press conference held on 19 July, Langfang will empty steel capacity in the whole city this year after the last iron and steel company withdraws.
Langfang used to have four iron and steel enterprises, which were not within the scope of elimination stipulated by the country as the overall level of equipment and technology were relatively high. But Langfang government resolutely carried out the requirement of provincial party committee and provincial government to build a "steel-free city". Over the past two years, it has overcome difficulties and challenges, explored the market-oriented mode of "government promotion, enterprise as main body, market operation and policy support". Three iron and steel enterprises have been withdrawn, 16.52 million tons of production capacity was dismantled, and more than 18,000 workers were resettled. It realized "zero accidents" in production and "zero petitions" from all personnel.
