MIIT releases revised method of dual credits

The official website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) recently issued an amendment to the Rules for the parallel management of average fuel consumption and new energy vehicle credits for passenger vehicle enterprises (draft for comments). According to the draft, the development of new energy vehicles is still encouraged, and the energy-saving potential of traditional energy vehicles will be tapped.
As to encouraging the development of new energy vehicles, the draft put forward that "In 2021, 2022 and 2023, the credit proportion of new energy vehicles should be 14%, 16% and 18% respectively. The proportion requirements for new energy vehicles in 2024 and subsequent years shall be separately released by MIIT."
