Chinese prices of stainless steel flat products and stainless steel pipe saw an upward trend during this month mainly supported by higher raw material costs and the increase in steel mills' list prices, while those of stainless steel bar went down further on weak customer demand. The market sales performance continued to be unsatisfying as downstream customers were mostly purchasing materials for urgent need. Having no confidence in the market outlook, traders refused to build large stockpiles and the market inventory was relatively low. Insiders predict the market would keep quiet in the coming month.
