Shanxi to improve coking industry in two years

According to the Three-year Plan on Green Development of Coking Industry in Shanxi, the province would try to improve the industry within two years by eliminating excessive capacities and promoting environmental protection level.
In 2019, the province would add 10 million tons of metallurgical coke capacity and expects the proportion of the material to reach 40%; by 2020, the new capacity of metallurgical coke would rise by 7 million tons and the proportion would reach 50%; by 2021, the proportion would reach 60%. From 1 October, 2019, all coking companies' emission should meet the requirement for environmental protection and companies which fail to meet the standard shall be closed. The coking capacity to be eliminated in 2019 would be 10 million tons. In 2020 and 2021, coking furnaces on files of the year before last year shall be shut down.
