Canada and U.S. reach agreement on cancelling tariffs for steel and aluminum

On the afternoon of 15 May, Canada and the U.S. signed an agreement on cancelling tariffs for steel and aluminum in two days, terminating the one-year tariff dispute.
According to a Canada-U.S. joint announcement released by Global Affairs Canada, the U.S. will cancel the punitive tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum products and Canada will cancel corresponding retaliation measures within 48 hours. Besides, the U.S. will discontinue all appeals against Canada that are initiated to WTO based on Article 232 of Trade Expansion Act and Canada will discontinue relevant appeals.
