Lead battery recycling pilot begins in Hubei

The starting ceremony of lead battery recycling pilot in Hubei was successfully held in Xiangyang, Hubei.
In January 2019, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) jointly with the eight ministries issued the "Action plan for pollution prevention and control of waste lead batteries", and then jointly with the Ministry of Transport at the end of January issued the "Pilot programme for the centralized collection and cross-regional transport system of lead battery manufacturers".
Zheng Yang, the Director of Hazardous Waste Team, Solid Wastes Division of MEE believed that the pilot in Hubei may provide guiding, replication and promotion experience and mode for the construction of waste lead-acid battery recovery system in China.
