China to raise tariff on some U.S. goods

On 9 May, the U.S. decided to raise the tariff on USD200 billion worth of Chinese goods to 25% from the previous level of 10%, effective from 10 May. The action violates the consensus of solving problems by negotiating, damages mutual benefits and fails to meet expectation of international community, resulting in escalation of the Sino-U.S. trade friction.
Based on Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China and Regulation on Import and Export Duties of the People's Republic of China, Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council announced that China will raise tariff on some of U.S. goods to 25%, 20% and 10% from 1 June, 2019. The same tariff will be applicable to the goods that were imposed a tariff of 5%.
