1. Market Highlights
In April, prices of CRC in Chinese leading markets did not show big changes. Even though the demand from downstream industries remained dim, prices of raw materials rebounded, restricting CRC prices from falling down. Supported by relatively low stocks and increased production cost, prices of HGI coil went up by RMB50-200/t (USD7-30/t) in leading markets this month. In the international market, China's export prices for CRC and HGI coil kept standing high and were losing competitiveness. Those in other Asian countries like Vietnam remained relatively stable this month. As prices of raw materials began to decline and the demand for CRC and HGI coil from downstream industries is difficult to grow, insiders predict that prices of CRC and HGI coil would decrease a little bit in May.
