China responds to extra U.S. tariff

On 8 May, the spokesman of Ministry of Commerce said that the U.S. will raise the tariff on USD200 billion worth of Chinese goods to 25% from the previous level of 10% on 10 May. China expresses deep regret at this issue as escalation of trade friction will harm interests of people in both nations. If the U.S. puts the new tariff into effect, China will absolutely take necessary countermeasures.
